City Council March 24th, 2021
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Donald E. Spainhour has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 90 to his eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman ofthe 11th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Donald E. Spainhour, loving husband and best friend for 68 years to the late Carole D. Spainhour; beloved father of Mary, Lynne (Del) Harnish, Thomas (Kathy), Sharon (John) Ligue, Patrick, James (Anita Perry), Dawn (Joe) Bravo and Lee Ann (JR) Reed; cherished grandfather of 21 and great grandfather of 38; dear brother of the late Maxine (late Frank) Cardinale and the late Edward (Laverne) Spainhour; fond uncle of many; and
WHEREAS, Donald resident ofthe South Side of Chicago, having lived in the Canaryville neighborhood for over 60 years; born in Clinton, IL, to the late Ira and Edith Spainhour;Donald was a longtime employee of Bowman Dairy and Darling & Company. He enjoyed time spent with family and friends as well as card playing, horse racing, and football; Proud member of Teamsters Local 710; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Donald to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago gathered here this twenty fourth of March 2021, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Donald E. Spainhour and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
