MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
 
 
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Dominic N. Colletti, on September 16. 2013, at the age of 85; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
 
WHEREAS, Dominic N. Colletti, the beloved son of the late Nicholas and Felicia, was born on October 17, 1927. As the devoted husband and best friend of Toni, nee Gentile; outstanding and proud father of Nick, Steve (Pam), Andrea Schmidt and Dominic (Mary); proud grandfather of Kim (Chris), Tom (Stacie), Steve (Amanda). Michael, Vinnie, Michele and Danielle; great-grandfather of Tabi (Dan), Jamie (Trisha), Koti, Toni and Frank; great-great-grandfather of Hannah and Adara; dear brother of Rosaire (Milton) Sousanis, Rocky (Marge) and the late Jerome (the late Elaine); fond cousin, uncle, great uncle and friend to many, Dominic leaves a legacy of faith compassion, dignity and love; and
 
WHEREAS, An active and vital member of his community, Dominic was known to all as a genuine, caring, honest and loving human being. He was a graduate of Notre Dame Law School in 1949 and partner of Colletti's Restaurant with his brother from 1968 to 1979; and
WHEREAS, Dominic will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,
 
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this sixteenth day of October 2013, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Dominic N. Colletti and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and

Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dominic N. Colletti.
