CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO NICOLE KOLECZEK ON WINNING FIRST PLACE IN THE CITY-WIDE CHICAGO PUBLIC SCHOOLS YOUNG AUTHOR
COMPETITION.
WHEREAS, Nicole Koleczek, a seventh grader at Sauganash Elementary School, has won First Place in the City-Wide Chicago Public Schools Young Author Competition; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this significant occasion by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Nicole Koleczek, has written a story titled Chance, a touching narrative about a girl who deals with the emotional struggle of losing a beloved horse and the hesitation in caring for another horse, drawing the reader into her world of ranch living; and
WHEREAS, Nicole Koleczek, represented Sauguansh Elementary School at the Area One Competition, impressing the judges with her writing skills; and
WHEREAS, Nicole Koleczek, went on to represent Area One in the City-Wide Chicago Public Schools young Author Competition, receiving the most honored, first place, now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this sixth day of July, 2011, do hereby extend our heartiest congratulations to Nicole Koleczek on winning First Place in the City-Wide Chicago Public Schools Young Author Competition, and wish her every success in any and all of her future endeavors; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Nicole Koleczek.
