RESOLUTION


WHEREAS, Milton Podolsky has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 94; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

WHEREAS, A resident of Chicago's Streeterville neighborhood and Boca Raton, Florida, Milton Podolsky was a prominent real estate developer and the husband of Lois and the late Phyllis; and

WHEREAS, Milton Podolsky enjoyed a career that spanned a half-century which focused on building office buildings and industrial projects; and

WHEREAS, Born in Chicago, Milton Podolsky served his country as a member of the United States Army in Europe during World War II; and

WHEREAS, After the war, Milton Podolsky worked in his family's drug store at State and Elm Streets on the Gold Coast; and

WHEREAS, Milton Podolsky began his career in real estate in 1957 and worked for Davis Pain & Company in Chicago as a leasing agent specializing in properties located near O'Hare Airport; and

WHEREAS, In 1965 Milton Podolsky teamed up with two partners to form an industrial and commercial real estate firm, but in 1971 decided to establish his own firm, Podolsy 8s Associates; and

WHEREAS, Milton Podolsky loved the art of the deal and was best known for developing the 38-acre Westbrook Corporate Center in Westchester which opened in 1985; and

WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Milton Podolsky serve as an example to all; and

WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Milton Podolsky to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and

WHEREAS, Milton Podolsky was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and

WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Milton Podolsky imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
