MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Philip M. Sandberg, Jr. on September 14, 2013, at the age of eighty; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on August 6, 1933, in Chicago, to Philip and Esther Sandberg, Philip was an active and vital member of his community, leaving a legacy of faith, compassion, dignity and love as the beloved husband of fifty-nine years to Saundra, nee Mackie, the loving father of the late Philip III, the late William, Karen (David) Capps, Susan (George Francois) Bourassa, Philip IV, William II and Karla; cherished brother of the late Phyllis and the late Darryl; treasured grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend to many; and
WHEREAS, Philip will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this sixteenth day of October 2013, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Philip M. Sandberg, Jr. and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
