RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Phillip J. Herkel has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God to his eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Phillip J. Herkel 70 Years. Veteran United States Army - 1st Cavalry - Vietnam/Cambodia. Beloved husband of 47 years to Theresa (nee O'Connor) Herkel; devoted father of William (Tonya) Herkel; loving grandfather of Alyssa Herkel; great-grandfather of Leah Comstock and Amelia Morgan; cherished son of the late Martin (late Anna) Herkel; dear brother of Irene (Richard) Krzeminski, Eleanor (Robert) Herkel, Edwin (Sharon) Herkel, Marion (Donald) Gillen and Helen (Stanley) Latocha; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews! and
WHEREAS, Phillip J. Herkel Lifelong Canaryville resident. Friend to all who knew him. Member FLAG'S Club. Member Canaryville Veterans Association, Member V.F.W. Post # 5079; and
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this thirteenth of March 2019, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Phillip J. Herkel and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
