MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR THERESA F. LEAVITT

WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Theresa F. Leavitt on December 29, 2018 at the age of 94; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman ofthe 39^th Ward; and

WHEREAS, Born on January 25, 1925, Theresa F. Leavitt (nee Rossi) was the beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Leavitt; adored aunt of Adrian "Sonny" (Maureen) and the late Mauritzio "Ricky" Bernardi; doting friend to her special companion, Brandy Mil; and

WHEREAS, Theresa will be remembered for her smiling face, her wonderful sense of humor, her thoughtfulness and grace within her; and

WHEREAS, An active and vital member of her community, Theresa touched the lives of those who knew and loved her. She will be forever missed, but fondly remembered for her character, compassion and sharing ways; now, therefore

BE IT RESOLVED, That we the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this thirteenth day of March, 2019, do hereby commemorate Theresa F. Leavitt for her grace filled life, and do hereby express our condolences to her family and friends; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution will be presented to the family of Theresa F. Leavitt as a sign of most heartfelt sympathy.
