We, the undersigned Members ofthe City Council of the City of Chicago, do hereby call a Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Chicago, lo be convened in person on Monday, November 14, 2022, at 9:00 am. Remote participation and viewing by members ofthe public shall be provided.
The Special Meeting is for the sole purpose of adopting a substitute resolution and subsequently holding a public hearing on SR2021 -919, the Bring Chicago Home Resolution; submission ofa public question by referendum to Chicago voters at February 28,2023 municipal election proposing increase of City of Chicago real estate transfer tax for purposes of providing resources for affordable housing and services to combat homelessness. This meeting shall serve as the public hearing on the intent to submit the question of increasing a real estate transfer tax to referendum, pursuant to the Illinois Municipal Code 65 ILCS 5/8-3-19. Any person desiring io appear at the public hearing and present testimony lo the Cily Council may do so.
