RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Honorable-Robert Gerard Clarke has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 78; and
WHEREAS,.The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward Ml Burke; and
WHEREAS, Robert issurvived by his wife Micael Clarke, and his children Jennifer (Stephen) Salvatore and Robert (Amanda) Clarke, III, his grandchildren Joseph, Thomas, and Nicholas Salvatore, and Eloise arid Robert Clarke, IV, his brothers Frank (Valerie) Clarke, Christine (Peter) Glennon, and Kevin (Kathy) Clarke, and is preceded in death by his late brother Mark Clarke, and
WHEREAS; Robert studied law at Loyola Law School, and began a varied arid successful career in criminallaw and,politics; and
WHEREAS, He was Director.of.Chicago Volunteer Legal Services; and
WHEREAS, He served as Alderman ofthe 49th Ward; and
WHEREAS, He was an avid long-distance bike rider; and
WHEREAS, To. his beloved family> Robert imparts a legacy of generosity, compassion, devotion to family and unwavering faith in God;,nbw, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the. members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this Eighteenth day of January, 2023, do hereby commemorate Robert for his grace-filled life arid do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Honorable Robert Gerard Clarke.
