TO THE HONORABLE, THE CHAIRMAN AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC SAFETY

Dear Chairman Taliaferro,

The Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability submitted candidates to me for consideration for two current Police Board vacancies. Pursuant to Section 2-80-080(c) of the Municipal Code of Chicago, upon receipt of these recommendations, I have 30 days by which to identify candidates for Council approval. The two candidates I select for appointment as members of the Police Board are:

Andreas G. Safakas for a term effective immediately and expiring August 10,2027, to succeed Andrea Zopp, who has resigned; and

Ajalteria Carr-Favors for a term effective immediately and expiring August 10, 2027, to succeed Steve Flores, who has resigned.

Both candidates have agreed to serve upon approval of their appointment by the City Council. Your favorable consideration of these appointments will be appreciated.
