Resolution

WHEREAS, The Selfhelp Home was established in Chicago in 1938, and formed as an organization in 1953 as a social service agency for Nazi refugees of Central Europe, and

WHEREAS, The Selfhelp Home is located in the 48^th Ward and has been home to over 1,000 survivors of the holocaust and emigrants from Central Europe, and

WHEREAS, The Selfhelp Home is a leader in its class in caring for seniors and has maintained the highest possible ratings with Medicare contributing to providing the highest quality of skilled nursing care and assisted living in Chicago, and

WHEREAS, On May 21, 2015 the Selfhelp Home will open a new Health and Rehabilitation Center offering seniors in Chicago a state of the art facility for short-term rehabilitation and top quality care.

NOW, BE IT RESOLVED, That we the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, assembled this 5^th Day of May, 2015, do hereby honor the Selfhelp Home for its continued investment in the health and welfare of the senior citizens in Chicago.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Selfhelp Home.
