WHEREAS, God in His Infinite Wisdom, called his servant, Alma Irene Armstrong to her eternal rest on March 16,2019; and

WHEREAS, Alma Irene Armstrong was born In Hattiesburg, Mississippi on January 6, 1941 to the union of Reverend Granville Blaine and Ira Pearl Tillman; she was a faithful.and dedicated member of True Light Missionary Baptist Church in Hattiesburg, MS. In 1960 she moved to Chicago where she attended First Church of Deliverance for many years. Later in life she attended church with her daughters and grandchildren as a visitor.

WHEREAS, In 1961 Alma Irene met and married Leon Armstrong. To this beautiful union they produced four loving daughters.

WHEREAS, Alma Irene Armstrong was dedicated and an example to her daughters. She taught them how to pray, trust In God and have faith, strong work ethics, independent, her sense of style and showed them by being an example how to love one another. She was also a great seamstress making clothing for her daughters, choir gowns and prom dresses. She was an excellent cook. 1
WHEREAS, Alma Irene also had a green thumb, in the summertime her yard flourished with beautiful flowers. She shared this love of flowers with her four grandchildren.

WHEREAS, Alma Irene Armstrong personified a woman of excellent work ethic. She worked In the Nursing profession for over 50 years. She was passionate about her craft as a nurse. She obtained her Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) In September, 1968. After graduating from Olive Harvey College Nursing Program, she obtained her Registered Nursing (RN) license in October 1977. Throughout her career she worked In hospitals throughout the Chicagoland area as well as performed private duty and Home Health Care. She was dedicated to her profession and she worked until the day she was admitted to the hospital.
