RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Reverend Ronald J. Lewinski will be honored at the Celebration of Mundelein as the Recipient of the As Those Who Serve Award; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this event by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, The Celebration of Mundelein is a festive occasion that honors individuals for their services to the Church and celebrates the supporters of the Mundelein Seminary community; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Ronald J. Lewinski is a priest of the Archdiocese of Chicago and Pastor of St. Mary of the Annunciation Parish in Mundelein; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Ronald J. Lewinski also serves as an Archdiocesan Dean and President of Frassati Catholic Academy, the first Archdiocesan middle school; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Ronald J. Lewinski completed his theological studies at Mundelein Seminary and the Faculte Catholique in Lyon, France and holds a Licentiate in Sacred Theology; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Ronald J. Lewinski served as the Director of Chicago's Office for Divine Worship and taught Liturgy and Sacraments at Mundelein Seminary, Loyola University and the Chicago Diaconate Formation Program;
WHEREAS, Reverend Ronald J. Lewinski was on the ad hoc Bishops' Committee on Divine Worship and on the advisory board of Notre Dame's Center for Liturgy; and
WHEREAS, Best known for his work on the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, Reverend Ronald J. Lewinski is the author of Welcoming the New Catholic, A Guide for Sponsors and Making Parish Policy; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Ronald J. Lewinski is a frequent speaker on liturgy and pastoral life who has addressed audiences across North America, Australia, Germany, South Africa and Southeast Asia; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council assembled this twenty ninth day of March, 2017, do hereby congratulate Reverend Donald J. Lewinski on receiving the As Those Who Serve Award; and
