RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Helen A. Collins has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 80; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Helen A. (nee Hickey) Collins; Beloved wife of the late James Ret. C.P.D. Collins. Devoted mother of James (Lisa), Kathleen (Robert Ret. C.F.D.) Popp. Loving grandmother of Kevin C.P.D, Daniel and Robert Popp. James, Casey, and Shannon Collins. Cherished daughter of the late James (late Veronica nee Slattery) Hickey. Dearest sister of the late Veronica (Roger) Dickman, late David Ret. C.F.D. (Grace) Hickey, Gertrude (late Thomas C.P.D.) Coffey, Denise Cooper, James Hickey, John (Jane) Hickey. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Dear sister-in-law of Terrence Ret. C.F.D. (Esther) Collins, and MaryEllen Johnson; and
WHEREAS, Helen A. Collins was a longtime Canaryville resident; a devoted parishioner of St. Gabriel Church and friend to many; and
WHEREAS, Her love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Helen A. Collins to her family members, friends and all who knew her, and enabled her to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this twenty-third of January 2019, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Helen A. Collins and extend to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Helen A. Collins. '
