RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, in 1995 Mario Stefanini opened the doors of Mario's Table at the corner of Dearborn Street and Goethe Street, and is now celebrating 20 years as a successful neighborhood dining establishment; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has been advised of this happy occasion by the Honorable Robert W. Fioretti, Alderman ofthe 2nd Ward; and
WHEREAS, Mario is a friend to all and welcomes his patrons warmly and personally, calling them by name and greeting them with a handshake or a hug; and
WHEREAS, Mario's warm welcome is a prelude to great food, excellent service and cordial hospitality in a congenial atmosphere; and
WHEREAS, Mario's Table has become a place where neighbors gather to recount recent events, exchange ideas, share fellowship, celebrate life's "ups" and commiserate over its "downs"; and
WHEREAS, a devoted family man, Mario helped his sons Rocco and Dante to grow up in and with the restaurant, where they can often be found dining with their mother, Sue, and with other family members and friends.
WHEREAS, Mario is also a devoted Chicagoan: he is a leader of the Gold Coast Neighbors Association and the North Dearborn Association, and a past leader of the City's CAPS program, and provides aid to local schools, parks and police programs; and
WHEREAS, Mario also generously devotes time and energy to seeking the good of others: he hosts the annual "Joy of Toys" event, where neighbors bring and wrap toys for needy children; he assists local religious organizations, and extends a helping hand to those in need and affected by tragedy; and
WHEREAS, all of these factors make Mario Stefanini and Mario's Table true Chicago treasures; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago, assembled this 15th day of April, 2015, do hereby congratulate Mario Stefanini on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Mario's Table; and
