RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, in His infinite wisdom, Almighty God has granted eternal peace to Patrick Bouvair Owens on August 18th, 2015, an outstanding citizen and member of his community; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Walter Burnett, Jr., Alderman ofthe 27th Ward; and
WHEREAS, the fifth son born to the late Georgia Mae Dawkins, Patrick was educated in the Chicago Public School system, played the tenor saxophone and participated in community basketball, and demonstrated his vivacious and friendly personality from a young age; and
WHEREAS, he pursued higher education at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago, and became a member of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity during his time in college. He strived for excellence in his education and worked hard toward his professional goals as a committed and valued employee of Pitney Bowes, Affirmative Insurance and the City of Chicago; and
WHEREAS, Patrick accepted Christ at an early age, and has been an active member in his church community his whole life. He and his wife Keteena founded Divine Connection Christian Ministry to help couples improve communication and foster healthy, committed marriages among those in their community; and
WHEREAS, he fell in love with his wife as a teenager and they were married five years later. To this union, his children Bouvair and Trinity were born, and Patrick was a dedicated father to his children, but also a nurturer to many others. He had the honor of being named godfather to many, a role in which he took immense pride; and
WHEREAS, although a hard worker who provided for his family at all costs, Patrick also balanced his professional duties with his family life, taking the time to go on vacations with his wife and children and maintain family traditions; and
WHEREAS, above all, loyal to his loved ones, Patrick was always eager to host parties, dinners, picnics, and other gatherings. Patrick was a delight to be around, but also a wise and ...
