CELEBRATING THE RETIREMENT OF A VERY REMARKABLE MAN
PRESIDING ELDER JIMM Y LEON THORN
WHEREAS, I am truly honored and overwhelmed with joy as I acknowledge this Man of Valor, anointed preacher and longtime advocate for equality in the 21st Ward and throughout the City of Chicago. Knovyn as one of the greatest pastor's in the City of Chicago, Presiding Elder J. Leqn/Fhorn on his retirement from St. James African MethodistEpiscopal Church. His dedication to serving the members in.the church and outside ofthe "four walls" of the church is incredible and it speaks volumes to the work God has assigned,unto him; and
WHEREAS, the official retirement has begun for the Presiding Elder J.Xebn Thorn from his'time-honored service af St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church -we can all attest that it isdue time for him and his ministry helpmate, First Lady Dianna M. (Joseph) Thorn and;son Julien Antoine Thorn to enjoy taking long bike rides, cooking their most favorite dishes and travellings countries they have;always desired to visit -For if anyone deserves to be blessed tremendously it would most definitely be this family; and
WHEREAS, it is only appropriate to say that every letter in Presiding Elder J. Leon Thorn first name (Jimmy) stands for something: J stands for justified by Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, / stands for Intellectual his ability to discern the truth from falsehood in any given circumstance is amazing. M stands for Meticulous in handling every business matter ofthe church and his household. M stands for Missionary he committed to go into uncommon places to witness the goodness of the Lord to everyone ready to receive it Y stands for Yearns his greatest desire is always to, make God a priority in his life; and
