MEMORIAL RESOLUTION HONORING MILDRED L. WILLIAMS
WHEREAS, Almighty God, in His infinite wisdom and judgment has called to her eternal rest, Mildred L. Williams an outstanding citizen and beloved friend, Friday, January 4, 2013; and
WHEREAS, This august body has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Anthony Beale, Alderman ofthe 9th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born December 2,1933, Mildred L. Williams was the proud daughter of Canary Abrams, who preceded her in death; and
WHEREAS, Mildred L. Williams accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age under the leadership of Elder Sunday at the Morgan Park Pentecostal Church in Chicago. As an adult, she joined Sweet Holy Spirit Church under the leadership of Bishop Larry D. Trotter in 1993 and was rebaptized in 2004 with her loving grandson Mikyel; and
WHEREAS, In 1957, Mildred L. Williams met the love of her life Roosevelt Williams and after courting for five years, they were united in marriage on July 15,1962 and enjoyed 50 years of wedded bliss. From their union, a precious daughter, Jetaune was born on their wedding day July 15,1971; and
WHEREAS, Mildred L. Williams was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and doting grandmother to her grandson, Mikyel and granddaughter, Jayda. A cherished friend and a good neighbor to all, Mildred L. Williams enriched the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her; and
WHEREAS, Mildred L. Williams leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory her beloved husband, Roosevelt Williams; her treasured daughter Jetaune Guyton (Michael); two grandchildren, Jayda Nicole and Mikyel Kristopher; a close friend Mable Dyer; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends, now, therefore,
