RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, On the 30th day of June, 2014, Mary E. Hollie, Chief Executive Officer, retired after 26 years of dedicated service to Lawrence Hall Youth Services, a human services agency in Chicago that cares for children, youth, and families, equipping them with tools and skills they need toward becoming proud, productive participants in society; and
WHEREAS, Mary Hollie first began her service with Lawrence Hall School for Boys in 1988 as a Program Director in the Residential Program; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her distinguished career with Lawrence Hall Youth Services, Mary advanced through the ranks, serving in various leadership capacities until she became the Chief Executive Officer and served in that capacity for the past twenty-one years; and
WHEREAS, Mary's commitment to pursuing excellence through the development of high-quality and innovative programs has improved outcomes for the nearly 1,000 children, youth, and families that Lawrence Hall serves each year in accordance with the agency's mission; and
WHEREAS, Mary believes that staff training and leadership development are critical to the long-term outcomes for children and families, as well as the sustainability of the organization, and she challenged each and every employee, volunteer, youth and family to do more and to do it better; and
WHEREAS, Mary served on a number of national and state-wide boards and committees dedicated to public policy and best practices in the human services system; and
WHEREAS, Mary provided the highest caliber leadership, with ingenuity, foresight, professionalism, and compassion; now, therefore;
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor of the City of Chicago and members of the City Council, gathered this 10th day of September, 2014, want to thank Mary Hollie for her many years of devoted service to Lawrence Hall Youth Services, and offer our best wishes to her and her family for continued success and happiness in the years to...
