RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Father Raymond F. Klees has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 75; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Beloved brother of Robert C, Caryl C. (Stephen) Whitney and Janet M. (Michael) Brennan, devoted uncle of Lauren (Joseph) Jacob, Sarah (Griffin) Keenan, Meredith (Peter) Carey and Matthew (fiancee Katie Doyle), Ryan and Michael Brennan, fun loving great-uncle of Matthew, Connor and Gavin Jacob, Griffin, Jack, Whitney and Charlotte Keenan, P.J. and Colin Carey, and devoted friend, priest and mentor to many; and
WHEREAS, He was born on February 21,1947 in Chicago, to the late Raymond and Celeste (nee Dunning) Klees; and
WHEREAS, He attended Quigley Preparatory Seminary in Chicago, Niles College in Niles and the University of St. Mary ofthe Lake/Mundelein Seminary in Mundelein; and
WHEREAS, Father Klees was ordained to the priesthood on May 9,1973, by Cardinal John Cody, and celebrated his first solemn Mass on May 20 ofthe same year at St. John Fisher Parish in Chicago; and
WHEREAS, Father Klees served the people ofthe archdiocese as assistant pastor at St. Juliana Parish on Touhy Avenue in Chicago, and later he served as associate pastor at the following parishes: St Gabriel Parish on Wallace Street, Our Lady of Victory Parish on Agatite Avenue and St. Mary ofthe Woods Parish, all in Chicago, Father Klees was also pastor at St. Cletus Parish in La Grange; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Father Klees imparts a legacy of generosity, compassion, devotion to family and unwavering faith in God; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this fourteenth day of December, 2022, do hereby commemorate Father Klees for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
