MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR KATHARINA HEIDRICH

 

 

WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Katharina (nee Starklauf) Heidrich on December 28, 2018 at the age of 85; and

WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Margaret Laurino Alderman of the 39th Ward; and

WHEREAS, Katharina was born on December 25, 1933. She met and married the love of her life, Jakob, and they were blessed with three children. Family was the center of Katharina's life. She created a loving home and was a nurturing and caring mother who continually devoted her time and attention to the well-being and togetherness of her family; and

WHEREAS, Katharina leaves many to cherish her memory, including: her wonderful children, Hannelore, Robert (Martin McDermott) and Thomas (Kimberly) Heidrich; her precious grandson, Christopher; her loving sisters, Lina Heimbach and Freida Stempfl; and a host of extended family and treasured friends. Katharina was predeceased by her devoted husband, Jakob Heidrich and brothers, Hans Starklauf and Baptist Starklauf; and

WHEREAS, Katharina touched the lives of those who knew and loved her through her unconditional love, kindness, and caring spirit. She will be deeply missed, but fondly remembered for her wonderful character, compassion, and thoughtful ways; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED, That we the Mayor and Members of the City of Chicago City Council, gathered together this twenty-third day of January, 2019, do hereby express our most sincere sorrow upon learning the passing of Katharina Heindrich and extend our deepest condolences to her family and loved ones; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the family of Katharina Heidrich as a sign of our honor and respect.
