A City Council Resolution Honoring the Life of McKinley H. Brister
WHEREAS, Almighty God in His infinite wisdom and judgment has called Mr. McKinley H. Brister, an outstanding citizen of Chicago, to her everlasting reward and returned to the heavenly realm on January 25, 2022; and
WHEREAS, This august Chicago City Council body has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Michelle A. Harris, Alderman of the 8th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Brister was a stellar example of dedication to his alma mater, Tuskegee (Institute) University, for the past 71 years. He was a proud member of the Class of 1951, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Commercial Industries-Automobile Mechanics. He received his Master of Arts in Administration and Supervision from Roosevelt University, Chicago, Illinois, in 1971. He held various positions at the local, regional, and national levels. He also worked tirelessly on behalf of his alma mater; and
WHEREAS, He was a life member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. - Rho Zela Lambda Chapter; ana devoted member of St. Dorothy's Church, Chicago Assistant Principals Association land the 8900 Dante Avenue Block Club; and
WHEREAS, He leaves to celebrate his legacy, beloved wife of 65 years Mary J. Brister, devoted daughter Dr. Marie Brister Brown (TU Class of 1984), granddaughter Tone' B. Brister, grandson Kelvy Noah Brown, and great-granddaughter Cassidy Rounds, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, lifelong friends.
THEREFORE, Be It Resolved, That the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, do hereby express our deep sorrow on the passing of and extend to his family our sincere condolences; and
