RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Michael Englehart has announced that he will step down as President and Chief Executive Officer of Presence Health as the Catholic health system becomes part of Amita Health; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this event by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Michael Englehart was named to head Presence Health in 2015 and brought nearly 20 years of health care experience to the role, including more than a decade at Advocate Health Care; and
WHEREAS, While at the helm of Presence Health, Michael Englehart implemented an enhanced focus on clinical quality, safety and patient and physician satisfaction; and
WHEREAS, Michael Englehart developed Presence Health's "Fix, Build and Grow" strategy; and
WHEREAS, Michael Englehart secured a $500 million bridge loan to stabilize the network's finances and returned the company to profitability after several years of operating losses; and
WHEREAS, Michael Englehart earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, a Master's degree in Business Administration from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management and a Master of Arts degree from Lewis University in Romeoville; and
WHEREAS, Michael Englehart is the former President of Advocate Physician Partners, a network of 4,900 physicians at 13 hospitals; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Michael Englehart serve as an example to all; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twenty-eighth day of March, 2018, do hereby congratulate Michael Englehart on his contributions to Presence Health during his highly esteemed tenure as President and Chief Executive Officer and do hereby express our best wishes for his continued success in all his future endeavors; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Michael Englehart.
