CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO MR. AND MRS. STIGGERS ON THEIR SIXTIETH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
WHEREAS, On Sunday, September 7, 2015 Abraham and Dorothy Stiggers, Jr., Chicagoans much loved and respected by their family, friends and neighbors, are celebrating Sixty Years of Wedded Bliss; and
WHEREAS, Abraham Stiggers, Jr. and Dorothy met in Memphis, Tennessee in 1953. Dorothy, a young woman filled with an abundance of grace, charm, patience and wisdom captured Abraham's heart and he knew she was the love of his life. In 1954 they moved to Chicago to start their new life and on September 7, 1955 they were united in Holy Matrimony; and
WHEREAS, Their sixty years of married life have produced a loving and close family consisting of eight children; and
WHEREAS, Throughout their children's youth, Abraham and Dorothy worked hard to provide them with a loving and supportive environment; and
WHEREAS, Abraham and Dorothy Stiggers, Jr. are now the loving grandparents of twenty-two and great-grandparents of twenty-one; and
WHEREAS, Abraham and Dorothy have passed sixty years of married life in loving and consistent devotion to one another, truly exemplifying the spirit of the blessed sacrament of Holy Matrimony and serving as a model of inspiration to their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Abraham and Dorothy Stiggers, Jr. are richly deserving of the fond and warm wishes of all who know them as they mark this marital milestone of their Sixtieth Wedding Anniversary; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Michelle A. Harris, Alderman of the 8th Ward and Chairman of the Committee on Committees, Rules and Ethics, has apprised this august body of this most happy and propitious occasion; now, therefore
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this twenty-fourth day of September, 2015 A.D., do hereby extend our heartiest congratulations to Abraham and Dorothy Stiggers, Jr. upon the Sixtieth Anniversary...
