RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Edward C. Bracken has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 81 to his eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Aldennan ofthe 11th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Edward C. Bracken, beloved son ofthe late Edward W. and Mary Gertrude Brcnnan Bracken; fond father of Laura, Christine and Edward; loving brother of late James t (Barbara) Bracken. William (Nancy) Bracken, CFD-retired, Maureen Shepherd, Daniel (Arlene) Bracken, CFD-rctircd, late Terrcnce (late Dora) Bracken, John J. (late Barbara) Bracken and Kathleen (Rev. Wayne) Sanders; dear uncle and friend of many; and
WHEREAS, Ed was a lifetime resident ofthe South Side of Chicago, Canaryville neighborhood; Ed was a graduate of De La Salle High School, then proudly served his country in the U.S. Army; Following his military service, Ed worked for 40 years at Chernin Shoes, Rooscyclt Rd. & Jefferson St., where he had the distinction of top salesman for many years; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Ed to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago gathered here this fourteenth of September 2021, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Edward and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the
