SALUTE TO REVEREND SHERMAN J. BUTLER PASTOR OF NAZARENE ALL NATIONS CHURCH
WHEREAS, On Saturday, May 14, 21, 28, and 29, 2011, its leaders, congregation and many friends throughout its community are gathering to celebrate the Tenth Anniversary as Pastor and Nazarene All Nations Church's Fortieth Anniversary; and
WHEREAS, This honorable body has been informed of the tremendous contributions that Pastor Sherman J. Butler has made and continues to make to his grateful community by the esteemed Alderman of the 15th Ward, the Honorable Toni L. Foulkes; and
WHEREAS, Since he became Pastor at the Nazarene All Nations Church in 2001 after his mother passed away and his fathers health began to fail, Pastor Sherman J. Butler has created a loving, caring, and highly spiritual atmosphere which has seen the congregation of struggling Christians grow into a sizable body of outstanding citizens who thrive and prosper through the inspiration of his example and diligence; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Sherman J. Butler is the loving husband, for 26 years of Rhoda, the father of four biological children, Sherman Jr., Sherrhonda, Sherell, and Sherniah, the foster parent of two, Latonya and Byron; grandfather of Taylor, father-in-law of Tiasha and god-father of more than twenty-five; and
WHEREAS, The leaders of this great City are cognizant of the great debt owed our great religious leaders; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of City Of Chicago City Council assemble this 13th day of April, 2011, A.D., do hereby offer our deepest appreciation for the spiritual guidance the Reverend Sherman J. Butler, Pastor of Nazarene All Nations Church and extend our heartiest best wishes for years of successful service to God, his congregation and his community.
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Reverend Sherman J. Butler, Pastor of Nazarene All Nations Church.
