MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Theresa J. Savage, nee Hofbauer, on May 30, 2015, at the age of ninety-five: and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on April 22, 1920, Theresa was the beloved wife of Don for seventy-two years; loving mother of Ginny (Jim, fiance) Krieger and Peggy (the late Lou) Schumacher; cherished grandmother of six and treasured great-grandmother of eleven; dearest sister of Kay (the late Ray) Baumhardt and the late Marie (the late Henry) Becker, Emily (the late Frank) Comens, Dorothy (the late John) Lukashaw and Joseph (the late Dolores) Hofbauer; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews; and friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Theresa leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, An active and vital member of her community, Theresa was Past President of Queen of All Saints Basilica Altar and Rosary (1959), Chairman of Medical Missions at Queen of All Saints Basilica for thirty-five years, longtime Girl Scout Troop Leader, avid lover of her Canasta Clubs and the Treasure of Tripp Avenue; and
WHEREAS, Theresa touched the lives of all who knew her through her kindness, her generosity, her heart and her spirit. She will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her, now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this seventeenth day of June 2015, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Theresa J. Savage and express to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and

Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Theresa J. Savage as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
