MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, ReStore Chicago is celebrating its first anniversary on Friday, November 1, 2015; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of this anniversary by Alderman Margaret Laurino, 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Habitat for Humanity ReStore located at 6040 North Pulaski Road, is a nonprofit home improvement store and donation center that sells new and gently used furniture, home accessories, appliances, building materials, and more to the public at a fraction of retail price; and
WHEREAS, All proceeds from sales go directly to help provide affordable housing for deserving local families by funding the building and revitalization of homes and communities; and
WHEREAS, The donations of gently used items and reusable materials that are resold and repurposed, help keep tons of potential waste off street areas and out of landfills each year, in addition to giving another family the chance to complete a home project as significant savings; now, therefore
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City of Chicago City Council, assembled here this eighteenth day of November, 2015, do hereby congratulate ReStore Chicago as it celebrates its First Anniversary and express our best wishes for outstanding continued success for decades to come; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to ReStore Chicago.
