RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Elroy "Sandy" Sandquist has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of fifty-nine; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Palatine, Elroy "Sandy" Sandquist was a widely admired attorney and the loving husband of Colleen; and
WHEREAS, Elroy "Sandy" Sandquist was the much-adored father of Kylen and Kara to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, Elroy "Sandy" Sandquist was the dear brother of Deirdre, Ellen and Peter; and
WHEREAS, Raised in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago, Elroy "Sandy" Sandquist graduated from the Francis W. Parker School, Brown University and Northwestern University School of Law; and
WHEREAS, Elroy "Sandy" Sandquist served as an attorney in private practice and from 1992 to 1996 was a prosecutor and hearing officer with the Department of Administrative Hearings for the Illinois Secretary of State's Office; and
WHEREAS, A civic leader and a champion for the arts, Elroy "Sandy" Sandquist co-founded the Fremont Street Theater Company in Palatine;

WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Elroy "Sandy" Sandquist serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Elroy "Sandy" Sandquist to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, Elroy "Sandy" Sandquist will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Elroy "Sandy" Sandquist imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
