MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of August A. Olivo on November 5, 2015 at the age of ninety-two; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on February 3, 1923, August was the beloved husband of the late Annette, nee Battaglia; loving father of Maryanne (Mike) Filippini, the Honorable Frank (Karen) and August (Nancy); cherished grandfather of Michael (Dena), Timothy (Rachel), Frank, Dana (Patrick), Anthony, Andrea and Nicholas (Katie); adoring great-grandfather of Alexia, Madison, Tyler, Nicole, Kristen, August and Jonathan; and treasured friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. August leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, August, an active and vital member of his community, had been a member of American Legion Post 600. He touched the lives of all who knew him through his kindness, generosity and spirit. He will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him, now, therefore
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and member of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this eighteenth day of November, 2015, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of August A. Olivo and express to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
