City Council June 17th, 2020
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Mary E. Marquez has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 68 to her eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Mary E. Marquez, dearly beloved mother of Patricia (Daniel) Orozco and Sylvia (Miguel Matos) Ortiz; adoring grandmother of her pride and joy grandchildren, Robert, Alani, Grace, Emily, Michael, and Anthony; devoted daughter of the late Joseph and Jovita Juarez Marquez; loving sister of Connie Mosqueda, the late Joseph Louis Marquez, the late Rudolfo Marquez, Carlos Marquez, the late David Marquez, Eduardo Marquez, William Marquez, Anna Marie Marquez, and the late Juan Marquez; dear aunt and friend of many; and
WHEREAS, Mary was a lifelong resident of Chicago, recently of Brighton Park on the Southwest Side, previously a longtime resident of the South Side-Canaryville neighborhood, and having grown up in West Town on the West Side; Mary dedicated employee of Sheraton Chicago Grand Hotel cafeteria for 26 years; and
WHEREAS, Her love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Mary to her family members, friends and all who knew her, and enabled her to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago gathered here this seventeenth of June 2020, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Mary E. Marquez and extend to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mary E. Marquez.
