MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Romeo S. Manuet, on October 16, 2015, at the age of seventy-five; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, born on July 4, 1940, in the Philippines, Romeo was the beloved husband of Ofelia, nee Marasigan; loving father of Marian Manuet (KC Cuidadano) and Edwin Manuet; dearest brother of Leticia (the late Virgilio) Cipriano, Virginia (Danilo) Polintan, Nelia (Syke) Maglaya, Cristina Aguila and the late Jovita (Vicente) Inlayo and Teodulo Manuet; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews; and treasured friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Romeo leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, Romeo was an active and vital member of his community. He touched the lives of all who knew him through his kindness, generosity and spirit. He will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him, now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and member of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this eighteenth day of November, 2015, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Romeo S. Manuet and express to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and

Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Romeo S. Manuet as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
