City Council June 17th, 2020
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, William R. Keating has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God to his eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman ofthe 11th Ward; and
WHEREAS, William R. Keating, the beloved husband of Viola (nee Jandik), father of Susan, Kathleen, William (Marge), and Daniel (Dawn); brother of Charles (Pam) Andersen; grandfather to Kristine, Katrinna, Jennifer, and Alison; great-grandfather to 7; and
WHEREAS, William was a Korean War Marine Staff Sergeant veteran, secretary of the American Legion Post #769 for 10 years, member of I.B.E.W. Local Union #134 from 1965-1997, where he was very active in union doings; William Keating was also very active politically. These two things he passed on to his two sons who followed on his footsteps to also become #134 electricians; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared William to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago gathered here this seventeenth of June 2020, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of William R. Keating and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of William R. Keating.
