MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
 
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Francey A. Gecht, nee Haytow, at the age of ninety-two; and
 
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
 
WHEREAS, Born on August 26, 1922, Francey was the beloved wife of the late Martin Gecht; loving mother of Lauren (Dr. Stephen) Kramer, Susan (Richard) Rieser and Robert (Rachel Winpar) Gecht; devoted grandmother of Adam (Jennifer) Kramer, Clay Kramer, Abigail (Daniel) Rubinstein, Jon Rieser, Nicholas (Ilene) Rieser, Amanda Gecht and Madeleine Gecht; cherished great-grandmother of Alexandra and Olivia Rubinstein, Hayden and Dylan Kramer, and Hannah and Lily Riser; fond sister-in-law of Mitzi Heytow; and friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Francey leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
 
WHEREAS, An active and vital member of her community, Francey touched the lives of all who knew her through her kindness, her generosity, her heart and her spirit. She will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her, now, therefore,
 
Be II Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this twenty-first day of January 2015, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Francey A. Gecht and express to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
 
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Francey A. Gecht as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
