MEMORIAL
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, God in His infinite wisdom and judgment has called his precious child, Doris McDonald Townsend home to her eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been notified of her transition by the Honorable Freddrenna M. Lyle, Alderman of the 6th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born November 28, 1920 in Heidelberg, Mississippi. She migrated to Chicago and met and married the late Marvin Townsend Sr. Eventually the young couple settled in the 6th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Doris and Marvin Townsend, Sr. shared many years of marriage and happiness which they shared with their seven children; and
WHEREAS, Doris McDonald Townsend, a highly respected citizen, was a vital and was baptized into Jehovah's Witness in 1983 and faithfully attended the Kingdom Hall until the Lord called her to her eternal rest January 14, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her long and fruitful life, Doris McDonald Townsend earned the respect and friendship of many. This highly regarded citizen has reached out and touched many in countless ways. Her strong guidance, gentle kindness and endless generosity will serve as an inspiration and comfort to all who knew and loved her; and
WHEREAS, Doris McDonald Townsend was the beloved daughter of the late Quillie and the late Janie McDonald, cherished grandmother to Karen Gave, Sharon Townsend, Tracey Mcoy (Raymond), Terrence Turner, Todd Baney, Tammy Spears (Scott), Angela Mcgowan (Roger), Toni Garth, Tiffany Cummins, Teri Roth (Ricky) Toi-Lynn McGary (Benson), Shareese Townsend, Ronald Joseph Townsend, Johnathan Phillips, Ernest Derrico, Jason Goodlow, Brandon Townsend, Justin Phillips, Nicole Townsend, Samantha Townsend, Doris Townsend, Candace Townsend, and Shloe Townsend; a host of great grandchildren and many wonderful friends; now therefore,
