RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Eric J. Bonano has concluded his tenure as Assistant Sergeant-at-Arms for the Chicago City Council Service Division following nearly eleven years of distinguished and capable service; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this occasion by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, A life long resident of Chicago, Eric J. Bonano was raised in the Logan Square neighborhood and graduated from Foreman High School; and
WHEREAS, Eric J. Bonano attended St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minnesota; and
WHEREAS, Eric J. Bonano worked for NIRCRC/Metra before working as a security dispatcher and field training officer at the Ho-Chunk Casino Hotel and Convention Center in Baraboo, Wisconsin; and
WHEREAS, As Assistant Sergeant-at-Arms, Eric J. Bonano played a key role in maintaining order, decorum and civility at Chicago City Council meetings; and
WHEREAS, For more than a decade, Eric J. Bonano performed a wide variety of tasks with professionalism, efficiency and an admirable attention to detail; and
WHEREAS, Eric J. Bonano served as a vital point of contact for elected officials, members of the press, visitors to City Hall and the general public; and
WHEREAS, Through his hard work and outstanding dedication to his duties, Eric J. Bonano helped ensure the smooth operation of City Council meetings and special events; and
WHEREAS, Eric J. Bonano's finest moment came at the September 14, 2005, City Council meeting when he assisted the Honorable Burton Natarus after the alderman collapsed while exiting, the Council floor; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this eleventh day of September, 2013, do hereby commend Eric J. Bonano for his years of service as Assistant Sergeant-at-Arms for the Chicago City Council Service Division; and
