RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Ride for Life Chicago is TPAN's signature fundraising event that raises awareness and funds to support lifesaving care for people affected by HIV and health disparities. After 18 years as the Midwest's premier cycling event to support HIV care, the 2021 Ride brings together volunteers, advocates as well as donors to ensure that Chicagoans have access to the care and services that safeguard our community and support full healthy lives, and,
WHEREAS, The Ride For Life Chicago returns on Sunday, September 12th, with the option for everyone, to bike either a 25, 50- or 100-mile ride; and,
WHEREAS, TPAN's Ride for Life Chicago involves dedicated volunteer teams raising funds for TPAN's care and services. They also work with sister or partner organizations in the Chicago area that form teams to raise funds for their mission and TPAN's at the same time; and,
WHEREAS, Each Community Partner team is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and retains a share of the funds they generate through their own team in the Ride for Life Chicago. This year's partners are Chicago House and Fred Says; and now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this 14th day of September, 2021 A.D, salute Ride for Life Chicago 2021 participants and volunteers on their commitment in the fight against HIV/AIDS; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be prepared and presented to Ride for Life Chicago, TPAN and their beneficiaries.
