RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Lisa Schrader, a widely admired veteran of government service and Chief of Staff for Mayor Rahm Emanuel, has announced that she will conclude her tenure at City Hall to pursue new opportunities in the private sector; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this event by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Lisa Schrader joined the City of Chicago in 2001 and began working in the Office of the Mayor in 2009 and played an invaluable role as a trusted advisor; and
WHEREAS, Lisa Schrader served in policy and communications positions in the Mayor's Office, for the Chief Financial Officer and the Office of Budget and Management; and
WHEREAS, Lisa Schrader served as Chief Operating Officer before being named Chief of Staff by Mayor Rahm Emanuel; and
WHEREAS, Before entering public service, Lisa Schrader worked on several candidate and issue campaigns, including the 2000 Presidential race with the DNC, the U.S. Senate campaign of Harvey Gantt in North Carolina, and the Better World Campaign to support the United Nations; and
WHEREAS, A native of Ohio, Lisa Schrader earned a bachelor's degree in English literature and political science at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio; and
WHEREAS, Known for her intelligence and calmness under pressure, Lisa Schrader leaves behind a highly distinguished record of achievement following her 14 years of public service at City Hall; and
WHEREAS, The hard work and dedication of Lisa Schrader serve as an example to all; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this fifteenth day of April, 2015, do hereby express our sincere gratitude to Lisa Schrader on her dedicated public service on behalf of the people of the City of Chicago and do hereby express our best wishes for her continued success in all of her future endeavors; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Lisa Schrader.
