MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of the James A. Weber, on October 28 2013, at the age of 81; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, James leaves a legacy of faith, compassion, dignity and love. Born on September 22, 1932, he was the beloved husband of Shirley; loving father of Christopher J. and Theresa Marie Weber; proud grandfather of Zachary Luis; cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews; and the dear brother of Walter (Vivian) Weber and the late Phillip (Evelyn) Weber; and
WHEREAS, An active and vital member of his community, James was a member of the Society of Catholic Social Scientists. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University and a Master of Arts in Urban Studies from Loyola University. He was also the author of four books, including Confirm Thy Soul, America: The Christian Foundation of the United States of America; Power Grab: The Conserver Cult and the Coming Energy Catastrophe and Grow or Die! And
WHEREAS, James A. Weber will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this thirteenth day of November 2013, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of James A. Weber and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of James A. Weber.
