RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Richard R. Kunicki has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of sixty-six; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Richard R. Kunicki was a retired member of the law enforcement community and the loving husband of Mary Anne; and
WHEREAS, Richard R. Kunicki was the much-adored father of Lauren, David and Leah to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, Richard R. Kunicki was the devoted son of Anthony and the late Mary and the dear brother of Eileen, Victor and Christine; and
WHEREAS, Richard R. Kunicki enjoyed a long and highly successful career with the Chicago Police Department and served as the Deputy Commissioner of the Chicago Department of Aviation; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his esteemed tenure, Richard R. Kunicki upheld the finest and most noble traditions of public service; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Richard R. Kunicki serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Richard R. Kunicki to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, Richard R. Kunicki will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Richard R. Kunicki imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this fifth day of February, 2014, do hereby commemorate Richard R. Kunicki for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Richard R. Kunicki.
