CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO THE EDGEBROOK WOMAN'S CLUB ON THEIR
N1NTIETH A NNI VERS A R Y
WHEREAS, This year marks the ninetieth anniversary of the Edgebrook Woman's Club;
and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of this special occasion by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39lh Ward; and
WHEREAS, The members of the Edgebrook Woman's Club and their guests gathered together at Westmoreland Country Club, on Old Glenview Road, in Wilmette to celebrate this momentous occasion with music and memories; and
WHEREAS, On February 26, 1952, the Edgebrook Woman's Club applied for and was granted a Certificate of Incorporation from Edward J. Barrett, Secretary of State of the State of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, The first Board of Directors of the the Edgebrook Woman's Club were: Mrs. Gustav Swanson, Mrs. G. F. Hibbert, Mrs. Howard S. Wayman, Mrs. Clarence Wechselberger, Mrs. Martin Rauscher, Mrs. Roy L. Johnson, Mrs. Albert W. Seidel, Mrs. John M. Hock, Mrs. William Haddow and Mrs. Henry H. Carner; and
WHEREAS, The purpose of the Edgebrook Woman's Club is to promote the welfare of the Home and Community and to engage in philanthropic activities, earning them a very well-respected place in the community; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this seventeenth day of June 2015, do hereby extend our heartiest congratulations to the Edgebrook Woman's Club on their ninetieth anniversary and wish them every success in any and all of their future endeavors; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the Edgebrook Woman's Club.
