RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Honorable Alan E. Morrill has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 89; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Alan E. Morrill was a retired jurist and the loving husband of Doris; and '
WHEREAS, The Honorable Alan E. Morrill was the much-adored father of Richard, Stephen, John and Patricia, the grandfather of seven and the great-grandfather of two to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, Raised in Chicago, the Honorable Alan E. Morrill enlisted in the United States Navy during World War II and served on the USS LaSalle and participated in the battles of Leyte, Luzon and Okinawa; and
WHEREAS, Following the war, the Honorable Alan E. Morrill graduated from the John Marshall Law School and founded the Chicago law firm of Morrill, Koutsky, Klomann & Chuhak where he earned a reputation as a highly skilled trial lawyer; and
WHEREAS, During his long and illustrious career as a leading member of the legal profession, the Honorable Alan E. Morrill served as a Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County and was the Publisher of the Trial Diplomacy Journal; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Alan E. Morrill authored two groundbreaking books on courtroom advocacy, Anatomy of a Trial and Trial Diplomacy; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of the Honorable Alan E. Morrill serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared the Honorable Alan E. Morrill to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Alan E. Morrill will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
