MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR JASPER OLLIE PERMENTER
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that: the members of this Chamber learned of the peaceful departure of Mr. Jasper Ollie Permenter on May 7, 2016; and
WHEREAS, This august body has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Anthony Beale, Alderman of the 9th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Jasper Ollie Permenter was born to proud parents Mr. & Mrs. Jasper and Evelyn Permenter in Greenville, South Carolina on February 9, 1949; and
WHEREAS, Jasper accepted Christ at an early age and often attended Rocky Creek Baptist Church in Greenville, South Carolina; and
WHEREAS, Jasper graduated from Greenville Tech trade school in 1969. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1968 and remained on active duty until 1990; and
WHEREAS, Jasper later moved to Chicago, Illinois, where he married the love of his life, Lisa; and
WHEREAS, Jasper is also remembered as a family man, who cared deeply for others and was known for his sweet nature; and
WHEREAS, In his spare time, Jasper enjoyed watching Westerns, attending his bowling league every Friday and eating his all-time favorite meal, pork chops with smothered potatoes and onions; and
WHEREAS, Jasper leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Lisa; children, Yolanda and Nicole (Lamar); grandchildren, Jasmine, Jalisa, Tyree, Deandre, Michael, Raziah, Amari, Lamar, Josziah, Damari; mother in-law, Patricia; aunt, Ollie; cousin, Vernice; and a host of family and friends; and
WHEREAS, Jasper touched the lives of all who knew him through his love and caring spirit. He will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and Members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, assembled this fifth day of October, 2016, do hereby extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Mr. Jasper Ollie Permenter; and
