INTERGOVERNMENTAL VACATION ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the City of Chicago ("City") is a home rule unit of local government pursuant to Article VII, Section 6 (a) of the 1970 Constitution of the State of Illinois and, as such, may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs; and
WHEREAS, the properties at 1301-1329 W. Wabansia Avenue, 1300-1328 W. Concord Place, 1651-1681 N. Ada Street, 1685-1699 N. Ada Street, 1656-1684 N. Throop Street, and 1686-1698 N. Throop Street, are owned by the City of Chicago, a Municipal Corporation; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Fleet and Facility Management proposes to assemble properties including the portion of the alley to be vacated; and
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Chicago, after due investigation and consideration, has determined that the nature and extent of public use and the public interest to be subserved is such as to warrant the vacation of part of the public alley described in the following ordinance; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:
SECTION 1.
ALL OF THE NORTHEASTERLY-SOUTHWESTERLY 16-FOOT WIDE PUBLIC ALLEY LYING SOUTHEASTERLY OF THE SOUTHEASTERLY LINE OF LOTS 1 TO 6, INCLUSIVE; LYING NORTHWESTERLY OF THE NORTHWESTERLY LINE OF LOTS 43 AND 44; LYING NORTHWESTERLY OF A LINE DRAWN FROM THE NORTHEASTERLY CORNER OF SAID LOT 43 TO THE NORTHWESTERLY CORNER OF SAID LOT 44; LYING SOUTHWESTERLY OF A LINE DRAWN FROM THE NORTHEASTERLY CORNER OF SAID LOT 44 TO THE SOUTHEASTERLY CORNER OF LOT 1 AFORESAID; AND LYING NORTHEASTERLY OF A LINE DRAWN FROM THE NORTHWESTERLY CORNER OF SAID LOT 43 TO THE SOUTHWESTERLY CORNER OF LOT 6 AFORESAID; ALL IN SUB-BLOCK 3 OF BLOCK 18 IN THE SUBDIVISION OF BLOCKS 17,18, 20, 21 (EXCEPT LOTS 1, 6 AND 12 IN SAID BLOCK 21) AND BLOCKS 23, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32 (EXCEPT LOTS 1, 2, 3, 6 AND 7) AND BLOCKS 33, 38, 39, 40 AND 41 IN SHEFFIELD'S ADDITION TO CHICAGO IN SECTIONS 29, 31, 32 AND 33, TOWNSHIP 40 NORTH, RANGE...
