RESOLUTION


WHEREAS, Globetrotters Engineering Corporation will celebrate its 40th Anniversary in business during 2014; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this milestone by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

WHEREAS, Globetrotters Engineering Corporation was founded in 1974 on Chicago's South Side at 108th Street and Michigan Avenue by Niranjan S. Shah and William H. Moore; and

WHEREAS, In the span of 40 years, Globetrotters Engineering Corporation has been successful in developing services in infrastructure engineering, architecture, and construction management; and

WHEREAS, Globetrotters Engineering Corporation has performed work throughout the State of Illinois and around the world; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago-based company employs approximately 175 professional, management and support personnel; and

WHEREAS, Globetrotters Engineering Corporation's architectural group is a leader in designing and rehabilitating affordable housing and public schools in the Chicagoland area; and

WHEREAS, Globetrotters Engineering Corporation has participated in the completion of the two newest runway projects at O'Hare International Airport as well as the design, construction management, and property management of the International Terminal at O'Hare; and

WHEREAS, Globetrotters Engineering Corporation also played a role in the last two McCormick Place expansions and designed and managed the construction of ADA ramps at intersections in the City of Chicago, including Millennium Park; and

WHEREAS, Globetrotters Engineering Corporation has additionally completed major highway construction management projects for the Illinois Department of Transportation and the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority; and

WHEREAS, Internationally, the company's projects include designing embassy security for the U.S. State Department; now, therefore

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this tenth day of September, 2014, do ...
