Tribute to Patricia A: Chambers
WHEREAS, On February 1, 2011, in His Infinite Wisdom, Almighty God has granted eternal rest to Patricia A. Chambers; and
WHEREAS, Patricia A. Chambers started her life's journey on February 20, 1951. She was the loving mother of Hally Crawford Chambers; sister of Marian Jones and aunt to a host of nieces and nephews; and
WHEREAS, She received her early education from the Chicago Public Schools and graduated from the Francis Parker School. Patricia completed a degree in Education at Chicago State University, a Master of Arts in Education from National Louis University, the Certificate of Advanced Study as a Reading Specialist from National Louis University, as well as, the Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Leadership from National Louis University; and
WHEREAS, In 1971, she was assigned to Charles Dickins Parent-Child Education Center where she was a teacher of preschool'children. Patricia worked at the A. N. Pritzker Regional Gifted Center. There, she served in several capacities including teacher of kindergarten, second, third, and eighth grades, drama coach, and curriculum and instructional coordinator; and
WHEREAS, Patricia completed her teaching career as a Literacy Coach at Lawndale Community Academy. She retired from Lawndale in 2007 after an outstanding educational career which spanned more than 30 year; and
WHEREAS, Patricia A. Chambers had a zest for life and was loving, wise, tolerant, selfless, compassionate, uncompromisingly honest, self-reliant, and strong spirit and body and had a positive impact on all with whom she had contact in both her working and personal relations; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Brendan Reilly, Alderman of the 42nd Ward where Patricia A. Chambers resided has informed this august body of the loss of this outstanding citizen and member of her commu...
