MEMORIAL RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of LaVerne "Lovey" Lauer, on December 17, 2013, at the age of eighty-four; and

WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39^th Ward; and

WHEREAS, , born on September 3, 1929, Lovey was the loving sister of Rose Marie (the late Jack) Wimer, the late Norman (the late Edith), and the late Russell (the late Marge); cherished aunt of the late Dennis Lauer, John Lauer, Donna (Dom) Testa, Jack (Betty) Wimer, Debra (Edward) Hansen, Bruce (Jane) Wimer, Time (Gayle) Wimer, Jeff (Kathy) Wimer; proud grand aunt and great grand aunt to many nieces and nephews; friend of many; and

WHEREAS, As a daughter, sister, aunt, grand aunt, great grand aunt and friend, Lovey leaves a legacy of faith, compassion, dignity and love; and

WHEREAS, An active and vital member of her community, Lovey will be deeply missed but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her; now, therefore,

Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this fifteenth day of January 2014, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of LaVerne "Lovey" Lauer and express to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
