Resolution: Lin Brehmer
WHEREAS, The members of the City Council of Chicago wish to recognize the many accomplishments of Lin Brehmer; and
WHEREAS, Lin Brehmer announced he will be taking a leave of absence from his WXRT radio show following his show on Friday, July 15th to focus oiv his health; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been notified of his leave of absence by The Honorable Harry Osterman, Alderman ofthe 48th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Mr; Brehmer started,his career at WXRT as the music director in 1984, and has been a.staplc of the Chicago airwaves since; and
WHEREAS, Lin Brehmer worked since 1991 as the DJ of the morning show on 93XRT before starting his tenure as the weekday midday show host on the station; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Brehmer has been recognized throughout his career for his on-air accomplishments as both the "Album Music Director of the Year" and "Music Director of the Decade"; and
WHEREAS, Lin Brehmer spent time outside of the airwaves advocating forandsupporting his community, including volunteer work with The Boys and Girls Club, Henry Schuclcr 41 & 9 Foundation, and The Kerry Wood Foundation, as well as his leadership in philanthropic projects to support St Jude Hospital, Growing Home Urban Gardens, The Greater Illinois Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation; and
WHEREAS, Lin Brehmer spent his time on the airwaves reminding listeners of the heartening truth, "it's great to be alive"; ah'd

BE IT RESOLVED, That wc, the Mayor and the members of the City Council ofthe City, of Chicago,, gathered here this day of July 20th, 2022 do hereby express our gratitude for the presence of Mr. Brehmer on our city's airwaves, and extend to him wishes for a successful treatment and continued strength and hope throughout this process; and
