RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Honorable Vincent E. Bentivenga, Jr., has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of seventy-seven; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Vincent E. Bentivenga, Jr., was a retired Criminal Court Judge and a widely admired member of the legal community; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Vincent E. Bentivenga, Jr., was the much-adored father of Mark and Scott and the grandfather of four to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Vincent E. Bentivenga, Jr., graduated from Mt. Carmel High School, Loyola University of Chicago and DePaul Law School; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Vincent E. Bentivenga, Jr., served for twelve years as an Assistant Cook County State's Attorney and worked for five years with the Cook County Sheriffs Office; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Vincent E. Bentivenga, Jr., became a member of the judiciary in 1976 and served for more than twenty years in the Criminal Courts; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of the Honorable Vincent E. Bentivenga, Jr., serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared the Honorable Vincent E. Bentivenga, Jr., to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Vincent E. Bentivenga, Jr., will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
WHEREAS, To his devoted and loving family, the Honorable Vincent E. Bentivenga, Jr., imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this fifteenth day of January, 2014, do hereby commemorate the Honorable Vincent E. Bentivenga, Jr., for his grace-filled life and ...
