RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Stacy Verne Dixon has gone to her eternal reward at the age of 59; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Stacy Verne Dixon, nee Boyle, was a widely admired Chicago / public relations professional and the loving wife for 37 years of Jeffrey; and
WHEREAS, Stacy Verne Dixon was the devoted mother of Jessica and Whitney and the grandmother of one to whom she imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that she possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, Stacy Verne Dixon was the dear sister of Suzanne and Scott; and
WHEREAS, Stacy Verne Dixon met her husband in 1978 while attending Eastern Illinois University; and
WHEREAS, Following graduation, Stacy Verne Dixon began her public relations career which included 15 years at AT&T; and
WHEREAS, In 1994 Stacy Verne Dixon founded her own public relations firm and three years later she joined her husband in co-founding Dixon and Company Public Relations and Government Affairs; and
WHEREAS, In 2004 the couple built a summer home called "Purple Haze" in Michigan City, Indiana where they enjoyed family gatherings, swimming and socializing; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Stacy Verne Dixon serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, To her beloved family, Stacy Verne Dixon imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twenty-eighth day of June, 2017, do hereby commemorate Stacy Verne Dixon for her grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to her family; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Stacy Verne Dixon.
